Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 5, 2026
Last Updated: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Robotrash, Inc., doing business as Robotrash ("Robotrash," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information collected through our websites, mobile applications, accounts, robotic waste-collection services, rovers, zone stations, pilot programs, customer-support interactions, and other products or services that link to this Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Principles

Collect what we need.

We seek to collect information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, operate, and improve the Services.

Use precise location carefully.

Precise device location is used only when reasonably necessary for identifying pickup locations or addressing safety issues.

No robot cameras for advertising.

Environmental sensor information collected by a Robotrash rover is not used to serve targeted advertisements.

No facial recognition.

Robotrash does not use facial-recognition technology to identify or authenticate individuals appearing in rover imagery.

We do not sell personal information.

Robotrash does not sell personal information for money and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

01Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Robotrash. We may not collect every category described below from every user.

Account and Contact Information

Name, email address, telephone number, username, account identifier, login credentials, communication preferences, resident or customer identifier, property or community affiliation, and unit or building information.

Community and Access Information

Building information, unit information, designated pickup locations, gate or access instructions, property maps, approved operating areas, and residency or eligibility information. We discourage users and Community Operators from providing permanent security credentials when a less sensitive access method is available.

Pickup and Service Information

Pickup requests, scheduled pickup times, completed or missed pickups, pickup location, requested waste stream, estimated or measured waste weight, number of bags or containers, rover assignment, service timestamps, route information, service exceptions, and service history. We may use this to provide personal or community-level service statistics.

Location Information

An address you provide, a designated pickup point, approximate location derived from an IP address, precise mobile-device location when you grant permission, rover location, and location information associated with a service event. We do not require continuous background location access unless a specific feature requires it. You can control location permissions through your operating-system settings.

Payment and Transaction Information

Billing name, billing address, transaction amount, transaction date, subscription status, payment-method type, payment token, last four digits of a card, and payment-processor transaction identifiers. Payment-card information may be collected directly by a third-party payment processor. Robotrash generally does not receive or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

Device, Network, and Application Information

IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, application version, device identifiers, crash logs, diagnostic information, authentication events, application activity, approximate location derived from IP address, and dates and times of access.

Website and Cookie Information

Our websites may use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, or similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, secure accounts, diagnose errors, and measure use of our Services. We do not use these technologies to sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Communications

Messages, emails, support requests, survey responses, feedback, photographs or files you submit, and records of our response.

Robot Camera and Sensor Information

Robotrash rovers may use cameras, LiDAR, positioning systems, proximity sensors, depth sensors, and other technologies required for navigation and safe operation. These systems may generate environmental images or video, maps, depth information, obstacle information, rover location and trajectory, object-detection results, telemetry, equipment status, and fault information.

Because Robotrash robots operate in real-world environments, cameras may incidentally capture residents, visitors, workers, pedestrians, vehicles, and portions of the surrounding environment. Robotrash does not use facial-recognition technology to identify or authenticate individuals appearing in rover imagery, and does not use rover imagery for targeted advertising.

Audio. Robotrash rovers do not record or store ambient audio during ordinary operations. If audio capability is enabled for a specific operational purpose in the future, we will update this Policy to describe that use.

We may review relevant imagery when reasonably necessary for remote assistance, obstacle resolution, accident investigation, safety, theft or vandalism investigation, troubleshooting, equipment testing, insurance claims, or legal compliance.

Zone Station Information

Fill-level information, equipment status, temperature or safety information, access events, timestamps, waste-stream information, service alerts, and maintenance records.

Information From Community Operators

A Community Operator may provide resident name, contact information, unit or building, eligibility status, authorized service areas, and property access information to administer Robotrash at a property.

Information From Service Providers and Partners

We may receive information from payment processors, identity or account providers, communications providers, Community Operators, waste-hauling partners, mapping providers, fraud-prevention providers, analytics providers, and customer-support providers.

Business and Pilot Contacts

If you contact Robotrash on behalf of an organization, we may collect your name, work contact information, employer, job title, business communications, meeting information, and information about a potential deployment or business relationship.

02Sensitive Personal Information

Some information Robotrash may process can qualify as "sensitive personal information" under certain laws. Depending on your use of the Services, this may include precise geolocation, account credentials, and certain financial-account or payment-related information. Robotrash uses sensitive personal information only for purposes reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and support the Services or for other legally permitted purposes. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for advertising purposes.

03How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide the Services — create and maintain accounts, verify service eligibility, identify pickup locations, dispatch rovers, schedule and complete pickups, process transactions, and provide customer support.
  • Operate the Robot Fleet — navigate, detect obstacles, maintain maps, monitor equipment, manage battery levels, provide remote assistance, diagnose faults, plan routes, and coordinate waste collection.

  • Process Payments — authorize transactions, manage subscriptions, issue refunds, prevent fraud, maintain accounting records, and comply with tax requirements.
  • Improve the Services — diagnose software problems, analyze fleet performance, improve routing, improve user experience, improve robot reliability, evaluate product features, and develop future Robotrash technology. Where reasonably practicable, Robotrash uses aggregated or deidentified information for longer-term product analysis.
  • Prevent Fraud and Abuse — authenticate users, prevent account takeovers, detect fraudulent transactions, identify misuse of equipment, investigate cyberattacks, and enforce our Terms.
  • Comply With Law — comply with lawful requests, maintain legally required records, respond to legal process, enforce agreements, or establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
  • Marketing — if permitted by law, tell you about Robotrash products, pilots, deployments, or events. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time. We do not use robot imagery or precise location to target advertising.

04How We Disclose Personal Information

Service Providers

We may use vendors for cloud hosting, databases, cybersecurity, identity management, payment processing, customer support, email, SMS messaging, analytics, mapping, fleet monitoring, and similar operational services. These providers receive information only as appropriate for their services and are subject to contractual or legal obligations where required.

Community Operators

Where necessary to operate a deployment, we may provide relevant information to participating apartment operators, HOAs, campuses, property managers, employers, or other Community Operators — for example, aggregate service volume, operational performance, unresolved service issues, or eligibility. We do not provide Community Operators unrestricted access to residents' precise device-location history.

Waste and Logistics Providers

We may disclose operational information to waste haulers, recycling and compost operators, maintenance providers, fleet operators, and other parties participating in waste collection.

Professional Advisors

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, or other professional advisors.

Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect life or safety, investigate an accident, investigate fraud or cybercrime, protect Robotrash property, or enforce agreements.

Corporate Transactions

Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, due diligence, or other corporate transaction. Appropriate confidentiality safeguards will be used where applicable.

With Your Direction

We may disclose information when you instruct or authorize us to do so.

05We Do Not Sell Personal Information

Robotrash does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Robotrash also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term is defined under California privacy law. If our practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any opt-out mechanisms required by law before applying the changed practice to your personal information.

06Automated Systems and Robotics

Robotrash uses automated systems to perform operational functions such as robot navigation, obstacle detection, routing, mapping, battery management, and safety responses. These systems may automatically determine that a rover should stop, slow down, reroute, return for charging, request remote assistance, or suspend a pickup. Robotrash does not use automated robotics decisions to determine a person's eligibility for employment, credit, housing, healthcare, education, insurance, or other similarly significant opportunities.

07Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal, safety, security, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements.

10Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is no universally accepted technical standard governing "Do Not Track" signals, Robotrash does not currently respond to legacy DNT signals. Where legally required, we recognize qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, with respect to activities subject to such signals. Because Robotrash does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, such a signal should not materially change those practices.

Third-Party Tracking. Robotrash does not permit third parties to collect personal information through the Services for their own cross-site behavioral advertising purposes. Our service providers may collect information through technologies such as cookies or SDKs on our behalf for analytics, security, diagnostics, and service functionality, subject to their own privacy policies.

11U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to:

  • confirm whether we process your personal information;
  • access personal information;
  • obtain a copy of personal information;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete certain personal information;
  • opt out of certain sales of personal information;
  • opt out of targeted advertising;
  • opt out of certain profiling;
  • limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and
  • appeal certain privacy-request decisions.

These rights are subject to legal exceptions and may not apply in every circumstance. Robotrash will not unlawfully discriminate against you because you exercise an applicable privacy right.

12California Privacy Rights

This section applies where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended ("CCPA"), applies to Robotrash or where we otherwise elect to provide comparable rights. California residents may have the right to know and access personal information, delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions), correct inaccurate personal information, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.

Robotrash does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your California privacy rights.

Robotrash consumer accounts are intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13 without any consent required by law. If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 in circumstances where parental consent was legally required but not obtained, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information to Robotrash may contact us at bf@robotrash.ai.

17Bystanders and Persons Without Accounts

Because Robotrash equipment operates in physical environments, environmental sensors may incidentally capture information concerning people who do not have Robotrash accounts. Robotrash uses this environmental information primarily for navigation, obstacle avoidance, operational safety, remote assistance, troubleshooting, and incident investigation. Robotrash does not use incidental bystander imagery for targeted advertising or facial recognition. A person who believes Robotrash has retained identifiable information concerning them may contact us at bf@robotrash.ai.

20International Users

Robotrash is currently designed primarily for operation in the United States. If you access the Services from another jurisdiction, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Robotrash or its service providers operate. If Robotrash materially expands into jurisdictions requiring additional international privacy disclosures or transfer mechanisms, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

21Links and Third-Party Services

Our Services may contain links to third-party sites or integrate third-party services. Those organizations process information according to their own privacy policies. Robotrash is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties.

22Business Transfers

If Robotrash undergoes a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor's use of personal information will remain subject to applicable law and the privacy commitments applicable at the time of transfer unless you are provided legally required notice of a change.

23Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services or legal obligations change. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through our website, the mobile application, email, or an in-product notice. Where legally required, we will obtain consent before using previously collected personal information for a materially different purpose.
